  1. Instructions for recurring transfer is supported by The Faster Payment System which is provided and operated by Hong Kong Interbank Clearing Limited. Use of related bank services supported by The Faster Payment System are subject to terms and conditions. Please refer to the terms and conditions relating to The Faster Payment System under section M of the Bank Account and Services Terms and Conditions.
  2. Instructions for recurring transfers must be set up at least one business day before the first payment date using a local bank account number. This service is not available for wealth management accounts, credit card accounts and bill payments. Set Up a New Recurring Transfer


Step 1:Log in and go to Pay & Transfer > Local Transfer
Step 2: Select any registered recipient or tap the icon at the top-right corner to “Transfer to New Recipient”
Step 3: Enter recurring transfer details e.g. “Frequency” (you can set up daily, monthly or quarterly recurring transfer)
Step 4: Confirm recurring transfer details
Step 5: Enter your DBS iBanking password^
Step 6: Authenticate with your Digital Token*

* You can activate your Digital Token immediately via DBS digibank HK app. Please click here for details.

Step 1:Log in and go to Pay & Transfer > Scheduled Transaction > Recurring Tab
Step 2: Select an existing recurring transfer transaction
Step 3: You can view the details of the recurring transfer, or tap “Amend” to input the details to be amended, e.g. the amount, the start month, the end month, etc.#

Step 5: Enter your DBS iBanking password^

Step 3: View the details of the recurring transfer and tap “Delete”
Step 4: Confirm deletion (Please be aware that you cannot undo the deletion.)

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. What information do I need to set up a recurring transfer (standing instruction) to a recipient?

    You’ll need the recipient’s bank account number* and full account holder name. Please input the recipient’s FULL account name, not a nickname, or the transfer will be rejected.

    *Currently, you can only set up recurring transfers using the recipient’s bank account number. Setting up transfers with the recipient’s FPS proxy (i.e. mobile number/email address/FPS ID) is not yet supported.

  2. Is the recurring transfer (standing instruction) service supported by FPS available 24 X 7?

    Though the recurring transfer service is supported by the Faster Payment System which is provided and operated by Hong Kong Interbank Clearing Limited, it runs in batch mode. Please note that the recurring transfers will only be executed on bank business days, which are days  (other than Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays) when commercial banks are open for general business in Hong Kong.

  3. Will the bank charge me any fees if I set up a recurring transfer (standing instruction) via DBS iBanking or DBS digibank HK app?

    No, there are no fees for setting up recurring transfers via DBS iBanking or DBS digibank HK app. If you want to set up a recurring transfer at our branches, please refer to Bank Charges Schedule for details.

  4. What should I pay attention to when setting up a recurring transfer (standing instruction)?
    • Please be reminded to use recipient’s FULL account name, not a nickname, or the transfer will be rejected
    • To set up a recurring transfer using our bank account, you must do so at least one bank business day in advance via DBS digibank HK app or at least three bank business days in advance via DBS iBanking/at a branch before the first payment date
    • This service is not applicable to DBS Wealth Management Accounts or bill payment


  5. If I cancel the recurring transfer (standing instruction), when will the cancellation take effect?

    When you cancel the recurring transfer, the cancellation will be immediately effective. The next payment cycle will not proceed.

  6. If the payment date for a recurring transfer (standing instruction) falls on a public holiday/non clearing day(e.g. Saturday), will the transfer still be executed?

    The execution of the recurring transfer will be postponed to the next bank business day. If the payment date for a recurring transfer is set for the last bank business day of the month, and that date falls on a Saturday, Sunday or public holiday, then the recurring transfer will be executed on the preceding bank business day instead. Please refer to Funds Transfer Cut-off Time for details.

  7. How can I set up recurring transfer service via DBS iBanking and DBS digibank HK app?

    To set up recurring transfer service via DBS iBanking, please log in and go to “Transfer” > “Set up Standing Instruction”.

    To set up recurring transfer service via DBS digibank HK app, please log in and go to “Pay & Transfer” > “Scheduled Transaction” > “Recurring Tab”.

  8. How can I view or modify my recurring transfer (standing instruction)?

    You can only view or modify your recurring transfer via DBS digibank HK app by tapping “Pay & Transfer” > “Scheduled Transaction” > “Recurring Tab” after logging in no matter your set up was done at a branch, via DBS iBanking or DBS digibank HK app.

    Note: A recurring transfer set up via a branch or DBS iBanking takes three bank business days to enable viewing or modifying it via DBS digibank HK app.
