Local Transfer Limits
  1. What is my maximum daily local transfer limits?
    Different customer segments and transaction types have different maximum daily local transfer limits.
    • Shared between PayFast, eLaisee and Scan & Pay:
      HK$10,000
    • For non-registered payee:
      HK$600,000 for DBS Treasures Private Clients/DBS Private Bank clients
      HK$300,000 for DBS Treasures customers
      HK$150,000 for DBS Personal Banking customers
    • For registered payee:
      HK$1,000,000

      If the remaining daily transfer limit for “PayFast, eLaisee and Scan & Pay” is insufficient, we will debit the whole transaction amount from your daily transfer limit for “non-registered payee” to complete the PayFast transfer. Please authenticate with your Digital Token.

  2. Do I need to activate the local transfer limits in order to make a transfer?

    If you are new customer, your default setting of local transfer limits is as follows:

    • PayFast, eLaisee and Scan & Pay:
      HK$0 (inactivated)
    • For non-registered payee:
      HK$0 (inactivated)
    • For registered payee:
      HK$200,000

    You need to activate “PayFast, eLaisee and Scan & Pay” and “Non-Registered Recipient” daily transfer limits in order to make the relevant transfer. You can click here to learn how to activate these transfer limits.

Third party funds transfer
  1. I used to transfer funds to my registered payee at another local bank. Why is now my FPS transfer to the same payee rejected?
    For security reasons, the recipient account name of payee needs to be verified in an FPS transaction. Please check if the recipient account name of your registered payee matches with the payee bank's record. If they do not match, the FPS transaction will be rejected.
  2. How to update the recipient account name of my registered payee?
    The recipient account name of a registered payee cannot be changed. You have to delete the payee and register again.
  3. Why was my transaction still rejected after I had updated the recipient account name of my registered payee?
    In this case, please contact the recipient bank for further information.
  4. How can I transfer foreign currency (except HKD and CNY) to an account in other local banks?
    To transfer foreign currency to other local bank accounts, please go to Transfer > DBS Remit and Overseas Transfer in DBS iBanking or Pay & Transfer > Overseas Transfer in DBS digibank HK and select “Hong Kong” as your destination.
What information should I provide if sender would like transfer to my account number?

Payee’s name will be verified for FPS deposit of HKD/CNY 10,000 or above.

Please remind your sender to use your FULL account name registered with DBS (instead of your nickname) for any transfer to your account number; otherwise, the transfer will be rejected. You can also register and ask your sender to use your FPS proxy ID (mobile number/ email address) for more convenience .
Transfer CNY to other DBS bank accounts

How can I transfer CNY to other DBS bank accounts?

Transferring CNY to other DBS bank accounts is not supported by FPS. To transfer CNY to other DBS bank accounts, please go to “Transfer” > “To Other DBS Account” in DBS iBanking, or tap “Pay & Transfer” > “Local Transfer” in DBS digibank HK, then select “DBS Wealth Management Account” as your source of funds.
 
Note: At this time, you can only use “DBS Wealth Management Account” as your source of funds to transfer CNY to other DBS bank accounts via DBS digibank HK.

  1. If I find my recipient’s FPS proxy ID/bank account number/Stored Value Facility (SVF) account number is being flagged by the high risk alert, how can I remove it?

    The high risk alert is generated based on information collected from scam reports and recorded in the Scameter of the Hong Kong Police Force. Please contact them at [email protected] if you think the FPS proxy IDs/bank account numbers/SVF account numbers are not tagged correctly.

  2. Will DBS be able to help remove my FPS proxy IDs/bank account numbers/SVF account numbers from the high risk alert?

    No, DBS cannot do the deletion. The high risk alert is generated based on information collected from scam reports and recorded in the Scameter of the Hong Kong Police Force. Please contact them at [email protected] if you think the proxy IDs/account numbers are not tagged correctly.

  3. If I want to report a suspicious FPS proxy ID/bank account number/SVF account number, what should I do?

    The high risk alert is generated based on information collected from scam reports and recorded in the Scameter of the Hong Kong Police Force. If you suspect a crime case has occurred, please report to the Hong Kong Police Force at a police station or via Hong Kong Police Force e-Report Centre.

  4. If there is no high risk alert message relating to my recipient, does it guarantee it is safe to transfer to him/her?

    No, it is not guaranteed. The high risk alert message will only be shown if the recipient’s FPS proxy ID/bank account number/SVF account number is included in the scam reports provided by the Hong Kong Police Force. If there has not been any report to the Police against a particular FPS proxy ID/bank account number/SVF account number, the proxy ID/account number will not be included in the high risk alert.

    You are advised to always verify the payment details (including the recipient’s identity) of every single transaction before making payment.

  5. Why is my recipient’s FPS proxy ID/bank account number/SVF account number previously not tagged in the high risk alert but now being tagged?

    The FPS proxy IDs/bank account number/SVF account number flagged as "High Risk" in Scameter and included in the high risk alert are based on information collected from scam reports provided by the Hong Kong Police Force. If there has not been any report to the Police against a particular FPS proxy ID/bank account number/SVF account number, the proxy ID/account number will not be included in the high risk alert.

  1. How would I know if my recipient’s mobile number/email address/FPS Identifier/bank account number/SVF account number is flagged for high risk alert?

    You can check from Scameter (cyberdefender.hk) to see if it is flagged as “High Risk”. When performing a transaction with use of FPS proxy ID (i.e. mobile number, email address, or FPS Identifier)/bank account/SVF account via DBS iBanking or DBS digibank HK app, a high risk alert message will be displayed for those FPS proxy IDs/bank accounts/SVF accounts flagged in the scam reports provided by the Hong Kong Police Force. You are advised not to make any transactions to the recipient unless you have carefully verified the recipient’s identity and ensure that the recipient is trustworthy.

  2. If I confirm to DBS to proceed with a transfer with FPS proxy ID (i.e. mobile number/email address/FPS Identifier)/bank account/SVF account flagged as “High Risk” and subsequently realise I have been scammed, what should I do?

    If you suspect you have been scammed, you may visit a police station or the Hong Kong Police Force e-Report Centre to file a report. In tandem, please report the case to our Customer Services Hotline at (852) 2290 8888.

  3. If a recipient’s mobile number is flagged as “High Risk”, will his/her email address/FPS Identifier/bank account number/SVF account number also be flagged by the high risk alert?

    Yes, you can, but please be reminded that the transaction has high risk of fraud. You are advised to always verify the payment details (including the recipient’s identity) of every single transaction before making payment.

App-to-App (ATA)/ Web-to-App (WTA) payment function
  1. What is App-to-App/ Web-to-App?
    App-to-App (ATA)/ Web-to-App (WTA) is a payment function of the FPS. When you access a merchant app or webpage supporting this function via your mobile phone and select FPS when making payment, the DBS digibank HK app in your mobile phone will be invoked automatically for making payment via the FPS.

    Step 1: Log in to the merchant’s app or webpage to purchase goods or services, and select FPS for payment.
    Step 2: After choosing FPS for payment, the screen will automatically display the banking apps and e-wallets supporting the FPS ATA/ WTA function in your mobile phone for you to choose.
    Step 3: Choose DBS digibank HK app to make payment. The transaction details (including merchant’s name and payment amount, etc.) will be displayed directly on the screen. You need to perform identity authentication and authorise the payment after verifying the payment information.
    Step 4: Upon completion of payment, click “RETURN TO MERCHANT APP” will return to the merchant’s app or webpage automatically to confirm the transaction is done.

App-to-App e-CNY wallet top-up service
  1. What is e-CNY?
    e-CNY is the digital form of fiat currency issued by the People’s Bank of China (PBoC). Same as the physical form of CNY, e-CNY is also the legal tender of China.   2. What is e-CNY wallet?
    e-CNY wallet is the carrier of e-CNY.
  3. What currencies are supported by App-to-APP e-CNY wallet top-up service?
    The service only supports Renminbi (RMB) dollars at the moment. Please perform RMB exchange, then top-up using RMB in your multi-currency savings account.
  4. How to complete the e-CNY top-up transaction?
    Choose DBS digibank HK app to top-up e-CNY via e-CNY wallet. The transaction details will be displayed directly on the screen of the DBS digibank HK app. You need to read and agree with the important notes for e-CNY wallet top-up service, perform identity authentication and authorise the payment after verifying the payment information. Upon completion of payment, click “RETURN TO MERCHANT APP” will return to e-CNY wallet to confirm the transaction is done.
  5. When I completed the e-CNY top-up transaction, can I reverse or cancel the transaction?
    The e-CNY top-up transaction is irreversible and cannot be cancelled. Please contact your e-CNY wallet operator / provider for assistance related to withdrawal, refund or any access to the funds in the e-CNY wallet.
