We are committed to building our strategies and solutions around you. As a bank born and bred in Asia, we believe in building relationships with our clients. As part of this commitment, we work closely with you to devise unique wealth products and solutions tailored specifically for your portfolio(s). Understanding your investment profile is a critical part of the process in developing a successful investment strategy suitable for your needs. The Investment Objectives Setting Questionnaire has been developed to facilitate this process. Your responses to the questions will help us to understand your investment profile, which will be based on your: 1) Investment Knowledge and Experience, 2) Risk Tolerance, 3) Risk Ability, 4) Risk Profile, and 5) Investment Objectives.
Each Investment Profile is described as below:
Investment Profile
Definition
Preservation
You seek capital preservation and your goal is to safeguard your capital placed with the bank.
You do not wish to take on any investment risk.
You seek a safe and regular income as a priority over capital growth and prefer to invest in cash deposits.
Conservative
Your priority is to preserve your capital whilst seeking investment returns that are higher than short term deposit rates.
You prefer to invest in simple, low risk products, with low volatility and good liquidity.
Balanced
Your goal is to achieve investment returns, either through income or capital appreciation, which are considerably higher than short term deposit rates.
You are willing to invest in higher risk products which may have higher volatility and lower liquidity and where there is a possibility of losing part of the principal amount invested.
Aggressive
Your focus is on maximizing investment returns and you are willing to take on high levels of investment risk to do so.
You are comfortable investing in complex products, some of which may be classified as being of the highest risk, and understand that whilst these may generate higher returns there may be a higher risk of significant or total capital loss, volatile returns and low liquidity.
Our investment products are also classified into 5 risk classes: from PRR1 to PRR5 (with PRR5 as the highest risk class). The product risk rating is based on our proprietary risk rating methodology which takes into consideration a variety of qualitative and quantitative factors. For example: Currency Linked Investment is a PRR3 product and Equity Linked Investment is a PRR4 or PRR5 product, while fund products are among PRR1 to PRR5 as determined by their individual risk levels.
You may consider choosing the relevant investment products according to your Investment Profile and financial needs.
