PayFast is an electronic fund transfer service supported by Faster Payment System (FPS) that allows you to pay instantly* to any local recipients’ mobile number or email address, and does not require additional authentication. Daily transfer limit is up to HK$10,000.

* The exact timing of crediting funds to recipient's account will be subject to the operation of recipient bank.

PayFast is free.
When you transfer funds via PayFast, you will enter the recipient mobile number or email address and click "Verify" in DBS iBanking or “Next” in DBS digibank HK to perform a lookup. Doing so will display the recipient's partial name. You can verify he/she is indeed the right person.
When you transfer funds via PayFast, you will enter the recipient mobile number or email address and click "Verify" in DBS iBanking or “Next” in DBS digibank HK to perform a lookup. Partial recipient name will be shown when the mobile number or email address is registered. Otherwise, you will be notified.

First time setup and Transfer limit


You can perform a one-time activation from Transfer Settings via DBS digibank HK.

During activation, you will need your Secure Device for authentication.

Please follow below steps to register & activate PayFast:

Register Payfast

Register with Mobile Number or Email Address

  1. Login to DBS mobile banking

  2. Go to "Pay & Transfer" > "PayFast" > "FPS Settings"

  3. Choose to register FPS with your Mobile Number or Email Address

  4. Follow on-screen instructions and complete registration

Register with HKID Card number

  1. Log in to DBS mobile banking

  2. Go to "Pay & Transfer" > "PayFast" > "FPS Settings"

  3. Choose to register FPS with your HKID card number

  4. Follow on-screen instructions and complete registration

Activate Transfer Limit for PayFast

(Need authenticate with Secure Device or Digital Token. You can activate your Digital Token immediately via DBS digibank HK. Please click here for details.)

  1. Log in to DBS mobile banking

  2. Go to "Pay & Transfer" > "PayFast" > "FPS Settings"

  3. Click "Local Transfer Limits"

  4. Update "PayFast and Scan & Pay Limit" to a value* other than zero

  5. Enter your DBS iBanking password^

  6. Let your Digital Token authenticate

* You can set the PayFast and Scan & Pay Limit up to HK$10,000
^ if this is the first high-risk transaction after the biometric login

Follow below steps to change the daily transfer limit for PayFast:

  1. Login DBS iBanking, click “Transfer” on menu bar, then click “Transfer Settings”

  2. Select “PayFast”, then click “Update”

  3. Enter new daily transfer limit, then click “NEXT”

  4. Verify details, then click “Next”

  5. Transaction completed.

Transfer funds


Once you have activated PayFast, you can transfer funds through PayFast via DBS digibank HK.

Please follow below steps to transfer your funds through PayFast:

  1. Tap "PayFast" in DBS digibank HK main page, then login to DBS digibank HK

  2. (Note: If you have already login DBS digibank HK, select "Transfer Funds" under main menu, then select "PayFast")

  3. Select "Mobile" or "Email Address" at the top for recipient, enter Mobile Number or Email Address, then tap "NEXT"

  4. Enter transfer amount, and Message to Recipient (if any)

  5. (Note: If you need to select Recipient’s bank account, in "Specify Recipient Bank" area, tap to change "NO" to "YES", then select Bank from the pull-down menu.)

  6. Verify transfer details and tap "CONFIRM" to complete transaction

Notes:

  • Please ensure the recipient and transfer details are correct before you submit the transaction. Once you have submitted the transaction, it cannot be cancelled. If a wrong transaction has been submitted, you can download "MIS-TRANSFERRED FUND RECALL REQUEST FORM" here and return the completed form to our branches or call (852) 2290 8888 for assistance.

  • If you have received funds that are mis-transferred to you, you should immediately contact us at (852) 2290 8888 to arrange the return of funds. You may have criminal liability if you do not return the mis-transferred funds.

Transfer to FPS ID on mobile

Step 1: Log in and go to Pay & Transfer > Local Transfer
Step 2: Tap “”icon on the top right hand corner > “Transfer to New Recipient” and “FPS ID”
Step 3: Enter recipient’s FPS ID and transfer details
Step 4: Confirm transfer
Step 5: Enter your DBS iBanking password^
Step 6: Let your Digital Token* authenticate your transfers

Bank Account allowed for PayFast


All single-name accounts and joint-name accounts (excluding joint-accounts with all-to-sign instruction) of DBS Current and Savings accounts are eligible to be linked to mobile number or email address to receive funds transfers.
Yes, each joint account holder can choose to link his/her own mobile number or email address associated with his/her DBS iBanking profile to the same joint account (excluding joint-accounts with all-to-sign instruction).
Once you close your bank account, all mobile number or email address linked to that account will automatically be de-registered, and you will be notified accordingly via SMS or email.

High risk alert


The high risk alert is generated based on information collected from scam reports and recorded in the Scameter of the Hong Kong Police Force. Please contact them at [email protected] if you think the FPS proxy IDs/bank account numbers/SVF account numbers are not tagged correctly.

De-register & deactivate


You can de-register mobile number/email address and deactivate PayFast at Transfer Settings via DBS digibank HK.

Please follow the below steps to de-register mobile number/email address and deactivate PayFast:

Step 1: De-register Mobile Number or Email Address

  1. Login to DBS digibank HK, and select “Settings” under main Menu

  2. Select “Transfer Settings”

  3. Select Mobile Number or Email Address which is registered with PayFast (Mobile Number is registered as in below example)

  4. Press recycle bin icon at the top right hand corner

  5. Press “DEREGISTER”

  6. De-registration completed, you will receive confirmation SMS.

Step 2: Deactivate PayFast

  1. In “Transfer Settings” page, select “PayFast”

  2. Press recycle bin icon at the top right hand corner

  3. Press “DEACTIVATE”

  4. Deactivation completed, you will receive confirmation SMS.
