What are the steps to submit an IDEAL maintenance request?
  1. Download the form here
  2. Fill in on PDF or print out copy
  3. Follow instruction in page 1 and fill in required section accordingly
  4. For all requests please fill in Section 1 and Section 13
  5. Send the form with supporting documents* to:

*For first time registration of Transaction Authoriser & Customer Self Administrator roles, please submit ID / passport & residential proof (Certified true copy of (i) ID / passport and (ii) residential address proof issued in the last 3 months (e.g. recent utility or phone bill, bank statement or correspondence from a government agency)).

How long does it take for DBS to complete my maintenance request?

Normal IDEAL maintenance request can be completed in 7-10 working days*.

*With the assumptions that no information and required signature(s) is missing.

What is Organisation ID?

Organisation ID (Org ID) can be located in your IDEAL Welcome Pack sent via email / mail and is used when login to IDEAL. If you cannot provide your Organisation ID, you could also fill in any of the DBS account number in Section 1 of the form.

What is FX Online?

You can book FX transactions in over 60 currency pairs (up to a year in advance) at competitive pricing. It enables you to perform FX conversion, account and telegraphic transfer seamlessly on our online banking platform.

Single Management Control is set as default for your Foreign Exchange (FX) services. Please read the risk disclosure on single management control here.

What is Customer Self Administrator (CSA)?

A Customer Self Administrator (CSA) should be a person with authority as they have control to grant online banking access to employees to initiate transactions. A CSA can manage user, manage access to accounts and functions, manage security credentials and company profile in IDEAL.

What is Authorisation Group for Transaction Authoriser?

Authorisation Group is required for each Transaction Authoriser. Each Transaction Authoriser can only belong to 1 Authorisation Group. An organisation can have 1 or multiple Authorisation Groups to distinguish the different levels of Authoriser by services and transaction limit on IDEAL.

E.g.:

  1. The organisation has only one Authorisation Group: User A to C belong to Authorisation Group A, and Authorisation Group A can authorise any service and limit transactions in this organisation's IDEAL.
     
  2. The organisation has multiple Authorisation Groups: User A to C belong to Authorisation Group A, and Authorisation Group A can only authorise transactions with a transaction limit of HK$ 0 to 10,000. Every transaction needs to be authorised by 1 Transaction Authoriser.

    Users D to E belong to Authorisation Group B, and Authorisation Group B can authorise transactions with transaction limits ranging from HK$ 10,000.01 to unlimited amounts. Each transaction needs to be authorised by any 2 Transaction Authorisers.
How to make maintenance request for more than 2 users?

You could copy Section 2 for each user's maintenance request.

How to request for physical token for new / exisitng user?

For new IDEAL user, you could request physical token by indication in 'Special Features' in Section 2.

For existing IDEAL user, you could request for a replacement of physical token in Section 7.

What is the difference between Digital Token and Physical Token Security Device?

Digital Token (Smart Authentication via smartphone) which is directly included in your IDEAL in smartphone. It is totally free of charge, more secure, quicker set up, go green and most importantly, one tap authentication via IDEAL mobile application.

Physical Token Security Device is the traditional physical token. It is a paid device with higher risk of loss: HK$250 for application and HK$500 for replacement of lost / damaged.

What is Authorisation Policy?

Authorisation Group and Authorisation Policy are closely related. Authorisation Policy can be specified by service(s) with different transaction limit(s) and authorisation requirement.

E.g.:

  1. The organisation has only 1 Authorisation Policy for all transaction amounts across all services on IDEAL. Each transaction only requires authorisation from any 1 Transaction Authoriser.
     
  2. The organisation has only 2 Authorisation Policies for different transaction amounts for various services on IDEAL. Each transaction has different authorisation requirement.

    Authorisation Policy 1: For Payment, Collection, any transaction from HK$0 to unlimited amount requires authorisation from any 1 Transaction Authoriser.

    Authorisation Policy 2: For Payroll, any transaction from HK$0 to HK$100,000 requires authorisation from any 1 Transaction Authoriser. Any transaction from HK$100,000.01 to unlimited amount requires authorisation from any 2 Transaction Authorisers.
What are Authorised Signatories?

Authorised Signatories with highest authories are specified in Account Mandate / Board Resolution to instruct and request for all banking services on behalf of the organisation. Therefore, Authorised Signatories with highest authories are required to sign in Section 13 of the form.
